INDIAN CREEK CAMPING

If you prefer fishing or want to spend time in a beautiful hidden location in the woods, this is the campground for you! Bunches Creek is adjacent to Cherokee, North Carolina’s Indian Creek Campground.

This creek is stocked with trout from the Cherokee Fisheries and Wildlife Management Programme. Indian Creek has tent and RV camping (with full hookups), cabin rentals, restroom and shower facilities, laundry, a playground, a store, and a variety of other activities.

Indian Creek’s full hookup sites cost $45.00 per night. Sites with basic water and power cost $36.00. You should budget $39.00 for any Creekside premium site. If you stay for the entire seven nights, you will earn a free seventh night! This setting is gorgeous and provides an excellent opportunity to explore a smaller, forested RV park.

LARGE SKIES CAMPGROUNDS WITH A BEAR DEN

Spacious Skies Campground – Bear Den in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, is a wonderful family vacation. One of the most appealing aspects of this campground is its closeness to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We spent time at site D-14, which we highly recommend! The plots are sheltered and offer plenty of space and solitude. One of the best features is the variety of paths around the property that dogs may enjoy. Spacious Skies has arcade games, a pool, a basketball court, a playground, bathrooms, and a communal area with fire pits and picnic tables.

Pull-through RV sites with full connections and 30/50 amp electricity cost $60.00 per night. A shaded gravel area will accommodate any size RV. There are less costly alternatives for water/electric hookups.

Tent camping is available, as are fully equipped cozy houses (with hot tubs!). Spacious Skies is open all year, however I would not recommend going there unless you have a 4×4.

Take the Blue Ridge Parkway north, pausing at the Bear Den Overlook before heading to the Chestoa View Parking Area and Viewpoint. It’s tucked away and doesn’t appear to be an overlook, but it’s worth getting out of the car and walking down to view. Several waterfalls may be found off the Blue Ridge Mountains Parkway.

If you’re heading south on the Blue Ridge Mountains Parkway, stop at The Orchard at Altapass. Katherine Trubey purchased 280 acres of uncontrolled land along the Blue Ridge Mountains Parkway in 1995 to protect its historic beauty and prevent development that might ruin the Parkway’s vistas.

The Orchard was converted into a non-profit in 2002, and the Altapass Foundation, Inc. was established to help preserve the heritage. The sights are magnificent! Visit the general store and grab an apple pie with a scoop of ice cream!

Most Saturdays include live music. If you want to stay outside, they have excellent walking routes to explore!

RV RANCH WALNUT HALLOW

Walnut Hallow RV Ranch is breathtaking, with mountains on either side and vegetation stretching as far as the eye can see. Walnut Hallow Ranch is a working cow ranch situated on 156 acres in Hayesville, North Carolina.

If you have a large group, this is an excellent location! Tent camping is also a possibility. Walnut Hallow has full Verizon service, high-speed WIFI, restrooms, and fire rings. It accepts pets and offers catering.

You will have no problem getting here if you have a large RV. Take a farm tour, explore the ranch, and wake up to an incredible view of the Smokies! On your way out, grab some fresh farm-raised Angus beef.
